Bisinella Developments has welcomed the Victorian Government’s Planning Approval for 12 large warehouses, one of the most significant industrial developments in the Geelong region in recent years.
The approval by the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning’s Development Facilitation Program paves the way for the Bisinella Business Park located in Heales Road Corio. The developments offers premium quality industrial warehouses in a prominent, strategically attractive and convenient location, with easily accessed by road, rail, sea and air.
The project will see the development of 12 warehouses providing a total of 45,000 square metres across 10.9 hectare of land within the Geelong Ring Road Employment Precinct, Geelong’s largest designated growth area for industrial development and one of only a handful of places in Victoria with Industrial 2 zoned land available.
Bisinella Developments CEO Richard Bisinella said the approval demonstrated the effectiveness of the Victorian Government’s approach to fast-tracking decisions for priority projects that generate economic and employment outcomes at a regional level.
“The DFP was established by the Minister for Planning to make faster decisions for priority projects such as these by providing an accelerated assessment pathway for eligible projects that inject investment into the Victorian economy and create jobs,” he said.
“Corio continues to grow as a strategic location for industry, and given the investment and jobs that this development will create, and the fact that it received no objections, it is the perfect example of the role the State can play in stimulating and encouraging this sort of investment, and in ensuring a strategic approach that delivers the best outcomes for the region.”
“We are already moving quickly with the commissioning of detailed designs for the first two warehouses which will comprise an initial investment of $12,000,000. Once the 12 warehouses are completed it is anticipated that 435 FTE jobs will be created annually- Geelong offers an excellent workforce and this development will help Geelong continue to prosper with new businesses and investment in jobs and the local economy”
Mr Bisinella said a number of businesses have already established within the precinct, including RPC Technologies, Civilmart, AKS Industries Australia and Velocity Truck Centres. He said he had been receiving a lot of interest in the area from a wide variety of businesses either newly attracted to the area or looking to increase their presence in the strategic North Geelong corridor.
“We offer a complete build to lease service, from planning and permit applications, building design, construction and post completion management of the facility. We can build warehouses to the detailed specifications of our clients, and manage the whole process.”
“We have unmatched local knowledge, experience and expertise gained over 60 years of operating in Geelong and a proven record of project management delivery,” he said.
